Re: Questions about Deadlock

Sorry to interrupt the flow, I feel compelled to say it is extremely remarkable and fantastic we can get direct answers and pearls of wisdom directly from the creators like this. The funny little stories and insight from when the game was under construction makes the whole thing seem much more alive...

Re: Which race is your favourite?

Beware the Cyth, my children. They do not need to eat or sleep, and care not how much they are overworked, overtaxed and overpopulated. Thank goodness there'll always be some who never want to contribute to society or they'd make the best workers and soldiers. Besides, if civilians are dying off fro...

Re: Deadlock Comics!

As you can see, my brother decided it best to make his own account to post the comics through. They come in different sizes and with varying numbers of panels, since the style, look and layout developed over time. I hope the larger ones aren't too obtrusive. We opted for .png which is a comparativel...

Deadlock Comics!

Allow me to present something my brother created. He's much younger than I, but as part of his education his considerate brothers introduced him to classic games we ourselves played when young. Deadlock was one of them. And naturally he was drawn to the fantastic characterisation of the races, the s...

Re: Deadlock III: Manifolds Destiny

I love the thought of the Skirineen being deceptively powerful and not actually having substance to their might. Bunch of thieves and plunderers, sounds about par for the course. I am psyched about the idea of a AC-Deadlock mod, have been for a long time now, but I'm happy to exercise the patience n...

Re: Campaign play question

As I recall the objectives like 'Make alliance with X' was easy if you warred against the other factions present. Except the Re'Lu. They weren't giving until I had half the planet in hand. I guess they secretly respect power. I think killing everyone else *is* a substitute for building the City Cent...

Re: Which race is your favourite?

More love for the Maug. But more for personality than exploitable strengths.

But honourable mentions to Ch'Cht and Uva Mosk.

Re: What difficulty level do you play Deadlock at?

I'm boring, I tend to play Fair Fights. I don't think I've even attempted the harder levels, though I may do so one day to encourage the AI to actually attack me for once. Though no doubt I'll regret doing that and have to beg it to stop flooding my bases with juggernauting laser squads in turn 10. ...

Re: I'd like to introduce myself

Hullo all I hope Rob doesn't mind me hijacking his thread to say hi myself (it seemed a logical place to put the introductory posts). It's less messy than starting a thread myself that'll echo most of what'd go in here anyway. My real name is Matthew and Deadlock was part of my childhood too. Many f...
