Gallius IV's 7th Anniversary and a Musical Remix

Yes, it's seven years today since I started the site back on December 24, 2010. I would make a main site update, but I haven't installed the software I need to update the main site on my current computer yet. I don't really have much to add at this point, I'm just waiting for Tggtt to become free so...

Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters

Thought I'd post about this since I played through it twice in the past month (once on the 3do and then the HD update). This is another game published by Accolade, back in 1992. It is a space adventure (with strategy and action elements) game. The humour I would say is reminiscent of Deadlock in man...

Re: [OpenDeadlock Community Discussion] - Terrain Rendering

Voxel terrain rendering (as was used in the original) might still be a possibility, even if it doesn't render exactly as it would have in the original Deadlocks. This is mainly an issue in terms of where wet tiles go, that might affect map importations from Deadlock II, such as if one wants to port ...

Re: [OpenDeadlock Crowdsourcing Request] - Pop. Growth & Tax

Deadlocks apparently approximate these values so we cannot confirm how accurate they are. Could it be that the game is just dropping the numbers after the decimal point, as is done when converting non-whole numbers to integers? I.e. 27.8 becomes 27, 3.4 becomes 3, etc.? It does this for resource ca...

Re: [OpenDeadlock Crowdsourcing Request] - Territory Type In

Since the world generator is essentially complete and just needs to be ported over to Tggtt's code (with some changes to make it work more with external parameters), I think we have all we need to know for territories at the moment. My text frontend for it has resource calculation and it corresponds...

Re: Discord chat? Gameranger? No campaign missions?

Dl2 has the same 7 races? Yep, the exact same 7 with no new ones. I particularly consider Hamachi horrible. Are or were there any other options (which would require ports/firewall to be opened I guess)? I think other than IPX, it was just serial and modem play, none of which will work with modern W...

Re: Discord chat? Gameranger? No campaign missions?

1. Is there a Discord for Deadlock 1 or for the entire series? Does anyone here not know Discord? I'll have to look that up, I have no idea what that is sorry. 2. Why this great game isn't in Gameranger (unless you have Mac)? It might have something to do with Deadlock I for the Mac supporting TCP/...

Re: trying to install Dl1 on Windows 10 64 bit

Have a look at the topic that Tggtt suggested, but in all honesty, you'll have to jump through a lot of hurdles to get it to work if you can. You are probably better off just purchasing the GOG version, as it does work on Windows 10 64-bit out of the box for me, although I haven't played it to any g...

Re: Cultural Centers

That would be good, but I think if any work is going into 3D it would better be put into a 3D frontend for OpenDeadlock.
