Re: Deadlock - Official 20th Anniversary Topic
Previous to Deadlock I had been playing a computer game called Empire Deluxe, which was just a world conquest game without any theme or character to it. When I first booted up Deadlock and I started getting harassed by the other leaders, or thumbing thru Oolan's Help Guide - I can't tell you how thr...

Re: OS's supporting DL
Finally got DL2 today. Had no problems installing onto one of my Vista machines, to include the patch. The NT machine was another story. Got the following error message after the install shield ran: %s requires Microsoft Directx to be installed on your PC. However, your Windows NT 4.0 operating........

Re: OS's supporting DL
Vista is stable for me on two seperate machines: the music works in the opening movie, but I don't recall it playing in-game. The AI's voices (taunts, comments, etc.) do work fine.Ubergeneral Grunt wrote:
Have you ever been able to get the music working in XP or Higher? Is Deadlock stable on Vista?

Re: Why did you start playing DL?
I remember playing Empire Deluxe (a TBS Planetary Conquest game) back in the early '90s, then moving on to Star Legions (RTS Planetary Conquest game): both games thoroughly engrossed me, and I completely loved the concept of conquering various worlds. Then the wife and I had two kids in quick succes...

Re: Deadlock III: Manifolds Destiny
It's great to see you, Darsnan. :) Heah, I just followed the trail of streudel crumbs. :) I always thought DL3 would follow the story of the Dark Cloud and how it was made as defence from invaders. I didn't finish all of Deadlock II's campaigns, so i'm not sure of all the canon that was established...

Re: Deadlock III: Manifolds Destiny
Right now I don't know how far this project is going to go, as I don't really have the bandwidth to dedicate to a project of that magnitude. I did generate a premise for that mod, as follows: Gallius IV: all is not as it seems.... Discovered just a short time ago, Gallius IV has drawn all eight know...
