When you view the world map on its largest scale and left click on a territory that territory is subdivided into squares. What is the purpose of these squares, given that you cannot move within territories; the only two movement maps are the large strategic and the city.

Hello, this is an excellent game and shows what can be done without a lot of cutting edge graphics. My questions are - and I am sure I will have many more as I go along, the manual being pretty good but somewhat underwritten:

1) what does the 1.31 patch do? Do I really need it?
