Re: Introduction
I think that the "lack of love" for deadlock has to do with the fact that it's an old game (1996) and only had one sequel. SimCity and Civilization have had several sequels, offshoots and advertising money poured into them, that's why they are more popular. If both of those games had stopped after ...

Re: Introduction
Hello Ccook67357, good luck on your game.
I came here in a similar quest, so I think we could share several things.
At first, I'm sorry to say that no one can fully decode the original sprites, I spent several hours trying to do it myself without being able to decode more than one picture (which ...

Re: Had to share "deadlock song"
My sister used to hate this song since she used to think that he was a bad singer.
Then I used to sing "if I get out of here again...." just to annoy her. (based on if i ever get back home again, if I said "the recruiter is gonna die" I would get in trouble)
I was just a little kid.

Halloween'13
I'm curious if someone here has considered wearing a costume inspired by deadlock.
I just thought it would be really funny, but I would never do it myself.
I'll stop posting threads since I'm worried about spamming this forum.

Deadlock Wiki
Hello again!
The last time I came here a database access error appeared, it seems fixed new, so I believe that whoever fixed it is enjoying warm glasses of oooooomi.
I am here today asking if there is a wiki about Deadlock or if someone has a plan for creating a wiki for it.

Re: Open Deadlock clone
I can make the panes (background of the window) use the image, but I'm not sure about the toolbar. It seems that the original Deadlock used a custom line of buttons, they aren't a native toolbar, maybe they weren't around by that time. Personally, I think that a native toolbar is better, since it ...

Re: Open Deadlock clone
The name was a joke  I was expecting someone to point it. I'm not sure about the name, since Openlock sounds "cheezy". (I know it is spelled cheesy)

Re: Open Deadlock clone
Here it is!
The long awaited clone... of the GUI.
Just an example to show it's not hard to deal with GUI in C++ if you use the right tools.
I didn't take long to create this using a gui design tool that generates c++ code.

Re: Open Deadlock clone
Welcome to the forum Tggtt, Thank you, ubergeneral!
A few months back I did toy with the idea of creating a very basic Deadlock clone in C++, basic as in: perfectly square territories and no enemies or AI. I didn't really get anywhere because I don't really know how to do a proper interface ...

Re: Questions about Deadlock
At first I acknowledge the replies from the creators, I didn't expect them to be around and the trivia is very very interesting. I hope they are still ok and find more opportunities to create more masterpieces.
