It's interesting they left the custom message option in (the Japanese version, which is missing multiplayer, took this out).

Has anyone checked the CPU usage of the GOG version?

They go up to 99%.
I think it's common to the other version, it's the GUI update/animation loop. Newer GUI toolkits avoid this issue.

Deadlock 2 seems to be the same thing as the original patched (1.20).
It also runs on Windows 2000.
It was probably patched again to ignore the CD when the files are found.
I tried to run the game via a mapped network drive and it asked for the CD, but it doesn't read the CD.

Good news (probably):
GOG version and the original patched version can connect to each other to play multiplayer games.
We should arrange some DL2 MP matches.

It seems that when you install DL2 from GOG outside C: drive, it won't work and will keep asking for the CD.
I'm pondering if I should report it there.

[edit] reported as launch issue.
[edit] they claim it works on an actual mounted hard drive, because my other drives were remote and directx (employed API) doesn't detect them correctly.
[edit] DL2 under wine glitches. It's been reported that 1.0.0 does not. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=7436
[edit] DL1 GOG under wine hangs like in Windows 2000. (Original 1.20 and 1.31 work fine with small widget glitches that don't cause trouble)

I guess maybe they bought DL too.

Is it still unresolved as far as getting DL1 to play multiplayer? Is there anyway around it?

See my topic about the patch. It's not guaranteed, however.

Ahhhhh!

This is awesome, just checked out gog and I see DL1 and 2 are both available at 5.99USD Ea.

I also see Tggtt has been making some headway with multi-player options/patches on both DL1 and DL2, I will continue reading to further understand whats been going on.

Deadlock 1 and Deadlock 2 are discounted this weekend. ($2.39 each)

You can find them among the discounted best sellers.

Edit: I have found the GoG installer's ad for Deadlock 1.
